The hotel itself is lovely, fantastic building and beautifully renovated.

There are 2 issues with the hotel -
1) the location. Horrible!! The hotel is not in the city centre. It’s a 35 min walk to the centre and you have to walk through horrible, filthy and dangerous neighbourhoods to get to the centre, with drug addicts, beggars and potentially also drug smuggling…!
2) the room. We stayed at the Classic room and the designer had the fabulous idea to incorporate the bathroom (wc, basin and shower) in the bedroom…! So the basin is next to the beds, the shower offers no privacy and the room floor gets wet from the shower.

Overall, for the price it costs, look for another hotel more centrally located in the city of Bordeaux

Bel hôtel, chambre très satisfaisante, espace bien être très sympa, petit dej top.
Bémol sur l'insonorisation côté rue (pompiers 3 fois dans la nuit) et l'emplacement.
Mais sinon nous étions ravi de notre séjour.

Fantastic room, fantastic welcome and check in process.

This would’ve been a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the restaurant. I ordered a steak and I purposely ordered it medium/ medium well as from experience french chefs undercook their steaks, and it came out blue/rare, it had been flash fried so the inside was completely raw. Disappointing for a €40 steak which I didn’t eat.

Interesting place. The whole concept and decor of the hotel were very original and there was sth special about it. I personally loved the room decor and this was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel. The room was spacious and as seen in the photos. I got a rate online that was 1/3 of the price communicated from the hotel, which was pretty strange tbh. The restaurant was pretty good as well.

The negative parts... Not a good location, takes you 20-30 minutes to reach central parts of the city. The staff was kind, but unfortunately very inexperienced. Meaning there is no kind of concierge service to help out with events, bookings, experiences etc. The person who was probably responsible for the restaurant and bar was very helpful and an exception. The rooms are all glass and everything can be seen from other rooms and from the patio where the restaurant is. That was very strange and not pleasant...

Très bel hôtel avec une très belle mise en valeur du bâtiment ancien, le thème de la zoologie étant atypique. La cour intérieure est agréable.
Cependant, nous avons noté au cours de notre séjour plusieurs points négatifs :
- nous avons été logé dans une chambre PMR avec des équipements adaptés qui en soit n’auraient pas posé problème si nous étions restés 2 nuits. Or nous sommes restés 9 nuits, avec donc beaucoup d’affaires, il manquait de ce fait des rangements par exemple sous le meuble vasque, ou dans la penderie, ainsi que des patères pour suspendre nos draps de bain et peignoirs ( qui trainaient au sol tout le séjour du fait de la hauteur adaptée du sèche serviette)
- le vis-à-vis avec les chambres d’en face : si nous souhaitions de l’intimité ( ne serait-ce que prendre une douche) nous étions obligés de fermer les rideaux occultants et donc de plonger la chambre dans le noir. Pas d’alternative possible avec des rideaux intermédiaires type voilage.
- nous avons été déçus de la propreté de la chambre : nous avons retrouvé des toiles d’araignées autour des fenêtres, ainsi qu’au plafond( voir photo)
- nous avons été déçus de la qualité du service de chambre : sur les 10 jours passés à l’hôtel, les sets de serviette n’étaient jamais au complet pour 2 personnes, par exemple le deuxième peignoir nous a été enlevé et jamais remis et le dernier jour nous avions seulement un drap de bain et une mini serviette….pour 2.
- vers la fin du séjour, nous avons eu un problème de douche : plus d’eau chaude et même ouverte au maximum, c’était sous forme de gouttes que l’eau s’écoulait. Nous avons informé la réception qui nous a annoncé qu’un technicien passerait régler ce problème. Nous l’attendons encore.

En conclusion, l’hôtel est canon mais le service n’est pas à la hauteur des prix/nuits annoncés pour un 4 étoiles.
