The food was outstanding.
Had soup (omg the broth was so rich) then the salom teriyaki and the cheese plate.
Cheese plate was massive I think it meant for 2 ppl ????

Highly recommend it!!!

Déjeuner en amoureux pour la saint Valentin, mon copain et moi avons été conquis.. le plat du jour était succulent, un bœuf bourguignon fondant et goutu. Le service était très professionnel et surtout à l’écoute du client. Je recommande vivement

Thank you L'Escient for a first in life. My husband booked a table here over a month ago for a special occasion, our 20th wedding anniversary celebration. Received a confirmation email, he confirmed. Two days in advance, another confirmation email, he confirmed. Even a text (SMS), to which he confirmed. So we walk all the way from our hotel over an hour to make the reservation on time and... the restaurant... is CLOSED!!! Chairs stacked. Buiding dark. Boxes and tables thrown all about and a sign on the door saying "Happy New Year, see you at our new location." But no information as to where that new location is. So he checks the most recent confirmation email to see if somehow he'd missed that the address there was different than the one on Google Maps (which, to be clear, also showed the restaurant as being open!). Convinced that we must be missing our reservation b/c clearly why would the restaurant have made all those efforts to confirm, we check the website, which has no address at all on it. Then call, no answer, only a message (all in French of course), but with my limited understanding, seemed to say something about changing locations but that the new one wasn't open yet. (No idea, just a guess.)

Regardless, RIDICULOUS!!! People give this place good reviews for food, but in my opinion, the idiocy of a restaurant of this supposed caliber automating its systems to such the end that NO ONE BOTHERS TO TURN OFF THE RESERVATION SYSTEM FOR WELL OVER A MONTH, they don't merit another chance. Especially in Paris, where there are hundreds upon hundreds of (I'm sure much better restaurants to choose from).

Oh, and the best part of the experience? After scrambling to find another restaurant of any decent caliber (it was our 20th anniversary after all) and totally by luck not only finding one a short walk away but lucking into the very last table for the evening, my husband gets another SMS thanking us for dining at L'Escient and asking us to rate our experience.

Well, there you have it. Our rating? You suck.

WHAT. A. JOKE!

Made a reservation, received a confirmation email, showed up on my 20th wedding anniversary and it was closed. The best part was the automated feedback SMS I got about an hour later asking how my meal was. Otherwise they've never responded - Suffice to say I don''t think much of this place or the owners.
