Nice atmosphere however it’s always very disappointing when the next table along who arrived after you (and whose order was taken before) are chomping into their mains before you get your starter. The excuse (that it took c50mins to get a starter) was that one of the dishes (crème legume) required a long time to heat up which all sounded weak. Then the buttersquash accompaniment to a steak main was totally cold in the middle. 10 mins later it reappeared whilst half the frites on another side were tiny over fried fragments. It was not so much the obviously poor food/service elements but the lack of understanding or apology as we left the table to pay at the counter with the waitress asking obliviously if we had had a good time. The biscuit was taken by the cashier/owner one assumes. When asking whether it had gone well, we told him it took ages to be served and one of the dishes was cold. Most good restaurants would see that as the cue for damage limitation and at least a small discount, I don’t know, but maybe the removal of said cold dish from the bill. No such offer was made, rather a standard offer of some home made liquor shot thing. Having refused that to his disappointment we paid the €116 bill including service and left ourselves feeling disappointed. As an aside this is a place for people with huge appetites to match the portion sizes which sets the prices pretty high (the couple next door to us did the doggie bag thing with some uneaten prime cut which one can only imagine went down very well with some pampered pooch). It also has the feeling of a restaurant which is rather over trading although I acknowledge it must have been busy with locals for good reason and so may have just been a bad night for them. It certainly was for us on this occasion versus our reasonably high expectations.
Nous avons eu l'occasion de voir un jeune serveur se faire remonter les bretelles en salle, ce qui n'a pas été agréable pour nous.
Nous y avons pris nos repas mais avons décidé de prendre les desserts ailleurs.
