Funky hotel with a cozy vibe. 1 bed queen room was on the smaller side but absolutely adequate for our stay. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were very hospitable. There is a nice cafe in the building and a bar with snacks in the afternoon. Wish that there were black out curtains, ours were a quite sheer. The room AC unit worked on and off and required us to restart it a few times. Location is near all the public transit but nearing an edgier part of the city (but coming from Chicago that wasn't a deal breaker). Great deal for the price.
Irene, super awesome, and made our stay in San Francisco wonderful experience. Location and simplicity of the Hotel is exactly what we needed on this trip!
Great hotel, located very close to Union Square. Felt very safe and close to food and small stores for snacks. But, the best thing about the hotel was that the front desk staff was amazingly nice and helpful.
Very nice hotel. Boutique, yet with most facilities you need. Personnel was helpful. Room was well decorated, comfortable and large. Main issues were that in the morning it took very long for the shower water to get warm; and the limited sound proofing of the room towards street noise. Nonetheless I would stay here again.
I stayed at the hotel emblem for 3 nights while on a business and social trip in SF. This hotel is very cool and in a great location, central to everything. The decor is very edgy and cool, the staff is friendly (in a true authentic way), and the rooms are quiet and so comfortable. I also really appreciated that the hotel is dog friendly! What more could you ask for?!
The decor is fun and the bar/lounge area is cozy. We were here on vacation for a few days, and it was in a convenient location to get to some of the sights and activities we wanted to do. The premiere king room was spacious and comfortable, and very quiet for being in a downtown area! Overall had a decent stay here with no complaints.
oof. simply not a 4 star hotel. ace hotel knock off. rooms are small, dark, and corny. save ur money and stay at the nikko down the street, worth the slightly higher rate by such a wide margin.
I stayed here with friends for my spring break! Hotel Embassy was the perfect place to rest my head after a busy day of excursions and restaurants. The staff was accommodating and friendly. I did not use most services, but do take them up on their complimentary sangria! I will mention that sound does seem to travel between rooms.
Wonderful, welcoming, and relaxed. For us, this was exactly what we needed. Good bed and shower, boutique, and strategically located. Personalities working there made the difference, authentic and caring. As if perfectly casted for each of their roles. It is more rockstar than glamor. The in-house coffee shop is amazing and for us better than any breakfast a hotel could serve. People living there 20 years, from blocks away, are regulars. We would go nowhere else in SF. The Emblem feels so good.
And noteworthy, we felt the area of the hotel and neighborhood was safe. Also, later at night.
The design features are awesome, it makes the hotel stand out in the sea of brown/beige hotel chains. However, just like with most stuff in San Francisco, the price doesn't always match what you expect to get for paying that much. It is not cheap, and attention to detail is not quite there. For example, our bathroom window frame had mould on it, and the hairdryer hasn't been cleaned for a while - as soon as we turned it on, it started smelling like something was burning (the fluff on the vent!). Also, their courtyard looks like a dumpster. Bearing in mind that half of the rooms face it, I don't know why they don't clean it up. We stayed at this hotel for a romantic occassion, and even though we checked in the early afternoon, we were given a room that had this awful view of the courtyard (see the picture), so I had to ask for another room that was facing the street. I wouldn't stay here again, not worth the trouble.
I booked online which looked much nicer than the actual rooms which were a bit dingy, with some smell I wasn’t able to claim. the windows were filled with dust like they hadn’t been cleaned in a year. The staff was friendly enough but they don’t mention that the Wi-Fi is not free (although it says online that it is) and that you will be charged $35 when you leave for “urban amenities” which is not “incidentals” coincidentally (otherwise it wouldn’t be called urban blah blah. Urban blah blah package is Wi-Fi, sangria they kindly offer you, a hot towel (I never got) nespresso pods and use of a bike with helmet I never used because I was not informed of it.
Had they been more transparent and with integrity, instead of taking the money after you leave, it wouldn’t feel as if you had just been pickpocketed by someone smiling to your face. Doesn’t leave you with a good feeling inside. Ick
Will definitely stay here again!

It’s a cozy hotel with comfortable rooms and beds, but can get noisy sometimes.
Location is great with walkable distance to many spots and restaurants.
