Localizado num sitio calmo e pitoresco, na Maia, este alojamento é perfeito para descansar depois de um dia a explorar a ilha. Incorporado no meio de São Miguel típico, longe dos aglomerados hoteleiros e com uma vista estonteante por entre Campos e mar.
O anfitrião, Rodolpho, é super simpático e recebe-nos como se estivéssemos em nossa casa.

Admittedly, I knew very little about the Azores after making a decision to travel to Portugal this year but wanted to include at least an introductory visit to the islands.

The Azores consist of nine main islands, grouped into three distinct geographic regions: the Eastern Group (São Miguel and Santa Maria), the Central Group (Terceira, Graciosa, São Jorge, Pico, and Faial), and the Western Group (Flores and Corvo). These islands are volcanic in origin and are known for their stunning natural landscapes, including lush green valleys, volcanic craters, and rugged coastlines. Visualize Ireland and Kauai’s love child.

We are staying in the parish village of Maia located on the island of São Miguel, which is part of the Eastern Group of the Azores. It is situated on the northern coast of São Miguel, which is one of the largest and most populous islands in the Azores.

The landscape around Maia is characterized by lush green farmland and hills, dramatic cliffs to the ocean, and the sound of the Atlantic Ocean.

Solar de Lalem is a beautiful rural historical gem located in the parish village of Maia. Azores, Portugal. Many people choose to stay there to experience the stunning natural landscapes, tranquil surroundings, and the unique charm of the Maia. We were two couples travelling throughout the Azores. Our primary motivation for the trip was hiking and the area around Maia and this lovely old inn has fabulous hiking and scenery. We loved this place; it has great history dating back to the 17th century, the rooms are large and airy and comfortable. We had a wonderful view of Maia and out to the Atlantic from our room. The staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly. The manager Fabio was great fun and always helpful. We loved having an evening glass of wine on the patio outside of the lovely lounge area and the bar hostess, Inês, was so friendly and a great asset to the place. Breakfasts were included and very good, and we enjoyed each breakfast out on the patio. Maia is a small, lovely village set right on the Atlantic, and we found a couple of local restaurants that we could walk to that served amazing food, fish in particular, and which we returned to a couple of times. We even made friends with the servers in each place, and they treated us like royalty. This place is highly recommended!

Wir waren 2 Nächte dort. Toller Standort für Ausflüge. Das Hotel hat viel Charme und ist ein perfekter Ort zum Entspannen und Ruhe geniessen. Aktuell hat das Hotel noch KEIN Restaurant. Es gibt jedoch ein kleines aber feines Frühstücksbuffet sowie eine Bar von 17-23 Uhr. Gute Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wir wünschten, wir hätten unseren Aufenthalt im Hotel länger gebucht.

Our Azores holiday was through a walking tour group so our hotel selection was provided as part of the tour. Although we didn't selection Solar de Lalem, we couldn't be happier to have stayed there while in Maia on Sao Miguel. The rooms, the grounds and the lovely town were all amazing but what made our visit special was the personal touches, especially meeting Inês, our hostess every evening. She was amazing, making us feel special and welcome. She helped us plan our week, guided us to amazing local attractions and made our visit personal and special.

Schönes altes Herrenhaus mit rustikal eingerichteten Zimmern. Sehr freundlicher Service. Tolle Lage, Strand, Läden, Restaurant fußläufig gut erreichbar.

Loved our stay at Solar de Lalém. Everyone was so nice and welcoming - felt like I was being welcomed into their home. The building is beautiful and you can feel the history but also has modern additions (fans, nice shower pressure, plenty of plugs etc). The bed was comfortable, the room stayed a comfortable temperature and was nice and quiet. Great locations right around the corner from Gorreana Tea Factory but also a short drive to Furnas. We only stayed one night but will definitely stay longer next time!

Nous avons séjourné avec ma femme 2 nuits à Solar de Lalem. Jolie maison ancienne. Petit déjeuner de qualité (salade de fruits et pancakes). Fabio le propriétaire est adorable. Nous avons séjourné dans les chambres annexes : propre, mais qui mériteraient un petit rafraîchissement ! Merci à Fabio et son équipe pour son accueil.

Beautiful old property, authentic and full of history. Nice garden, with cute tables to sit outside for breakfast.

De l’extérieur, la maison a beaucoup de charme et a sans aucun doute un très grand potentiel. Son emplacement est très pratique pour visiter la partie est et centrale de l’île. Il est aussi très agréable d’être en pleine nature.
L’établissement a été racheté il y a quelques mois et il aurait dû être sérieusement rafraîchi - tout est vieux et sent le vieux. Nous logions dans un appartement séparé, près de la piscine. Je le déconseille fortement. On a l’impression de loger dans une cave. Il est sombre et il sent très fort l’humidité. Le mobilier est très basique et sans le moindre charme. L’appartement dispose d’une terrasse mais elle n’a aucune vue et elle est également très sombre (pour ne pas dire glauque). Le personnel est très sympathique et le petit-déjeuner est très complet et bon. Néanmoins, pour le prix, je m’attends à un autre standing. Je trouve aussi honteux qu’ils demandent 5€ pour chaque vêtement qu’on demander de laver (un t-shirt, un pantalon et un pull lavés coûtent donc 15€!). Ils demandent aussi 5€ si on leur demande de réserver un restaurant.

Ein sehr gemütliches kleines Hotel im Ort Maia an der Nordküste von São Miguel in einer ehemaligen Residenz des portugiesischen Königs. Es ist ausgestattet mit einfachen und gemütlichen Zimmern. Es gibt ein tolles Frühstück im Garten, eine Bar für die Abende, eine Bibliothek mit mehrsprachiger Reiseliteratur und einen kleinen Pool. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich wie in einer Familie. Vom Hotel aus kann man Wanderungen und Ausflüge mit dem Auto machen. Im Ort gibt es zwei gute Restaurants.

Wunderschöne, ruhige Unterkunft in früheren Herrenhaus (ehemalige Residenz des portugiesischen Königs) mit kleinem Park und tollem Frühstück. Die Zimmer sind im Haupthaus oder Gartenhaus. Einfache aber gemütliche Zimmer mit allem was man braucht. Auch ein kleiner Pool ist vorhanden. Parkplätze sind vor dem Haupthaus oder Garten verfügbar. Sehr nette, hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Man fühlt sich wie in einer Familie. Jederzeit wieder.
Die Lage ist auch top. In 500 m erreicht man sehr gute Restaurants und Bars in Maia sowie die Naturpools mit Lifeguards. In 30 min ist man mit dem Auto in Furnas, 40 min in Ponte Delgada oder in 60 min in Sete Citades.
