Fantastisch om van zulk goed, smaakvol plantaardig eten te kunnen genieten. Voeding zonder dierenleed.
Wij kijken er naar om er weer heen te gaan!

Premium vegan food with fantastic service.

The best vegan food in the world served by an extremely friendly waiter who is so good at his job that you want to go back there both for the food as well as the service!

Establishment and staff are near perfect, deserves a better location.
Food and drink are 10/10.

Very nice vegan restaurant, has a good variety of food on the menu (which is expected to grow further). The service was perfect and very welcoming, the restaurant itself nicely decorated. The food tasted amazing and was perfect, I had some gnocchi with meatballs and pesto, as well as some other vegetables. I want to recommend this restaurant to everyone, they deserve to be known much more!

The Botanist was outstanding. The quality of food was excellent. Don’t think of it as a vegan restaurant, think of it as a restaurant worth visiting. Price was good considering how great it was and service was outstanding.

Hello, my name is Gustavo Hernandez, an enthusiastic professional cooker (with studies) and I spent more than my summer 2023 working at the botanist giving my best with the knowledge and skill that I’ve learned trying to make some magic there serving good food to the people who pay this expensive menu made with THE CHEAPEST ingredients!
And at this time I don’t want to talk about how is the food.
I just want to uncover in public the truth that no worker in my situation did before, but I think that is important to make public this kind of things to try to finish with this situations for the new people that can suffer them!
- First, this place is taking people and let them work for a while without permission or in some cases without contract until inspections are getting there…
Then unfair and senseless discounts from the salary of the people who is working hard shifts and those hard conditions in that kitchen.
The last month that I worked there (the hardest one of the season) I was stolen with a big part of my salary (because I was not full paid by deposit in bank account how every normal worker. I was paid one part in bank account and other part in cash… You know taxes avoid).
Well, the part in cash was missing from this payment disrespecting 9 hours shift daily that I was making or some days 10 or 12 hours shift, in conclusion instead they pay me for work, I was the one who pay to them to work????????????.
This problems in that place, unfortunately were not just with me, some people before suffered them and it’s possible that new enthusiastic people will suffer them….
My only purpose is to make conscientiousness for the people to think about if they want to support this kind of corruptions where they don’t care and take a lot of advantage of the good people who is just looking to make an opportunity in the season…
There are some more things but I don’t want to spend too much time explaining everything…

If you read until here, I appreciate that you took the time to do that to know some truth about the face behind what is happening when the costumer is enjoying the meal… and the last thing:

Just perfect!

Es war einfach rundum herrlich! Die Lage an der Promenade ist wirklich sehr schön und wir haben den Sonnenuntergang beim Essen beobachten können. Auch die Räumlichkeiten des Innenbereichs sind in einem modernen Stil und passend zum Namen des Restaurants mit vielen pflanzlichen und grünen Elementen eingerichtet, weswegen man hier bestimmt auch an kälteren Abenden eine schöne Zeit verbringen kann.

Nun zur Essenz. Das Essen war einfach nur spitze. Wir haben drei verschiedene Hauptspeisen bestellt und voneinander probiert. Noch nie habe ich so leckeres und zartes veganes (!!) Fleisch gegessen. Die Burger waren ebenso gut, aber ich würde empfehlen, eines der anderen Gerichte zu probieren. Die „Fisch“speise hat uns alle vier aus den Socken gehauen, es war nicht nur unglaublich schön angerichtet, sondern hat auch geschmacklich positiv gepunktet.

Die Bedienung war super, der Herr hat uns sehr freundlich alles erklärt und sogar Tipps gegeben und Fragen beantwortet. Man kann zudem über eine Lampe am Tisch nach Service fragen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden definitiv wieder kommen.

Absolute Herzensempfehlung!

I am not vegan, nor the vegetarian, i am old school meat eater, but the food in this restaurant is delicious and I can strongly recommend this restaurant to anybody. You will not regret. They also have amazing wine offer. Domestic hi end products that can easily compete to any popular french/italian brand. And of course, the service is top,the ambient top... 5 stars without thinking

Zanimljiv menu. Ugodan ambijent. Konobar ljubazan, nenametljiv i uslužan.

Ein fantastisches Geschmackserlebnis. Wir waren an Sylvester hier und hatten die Tomatensuppe, den gegrillten Fenchel und den Pilz als Vorspeisen. Es war absolut empfehlenswert. Als Hauptspeise gab es das Gulasch, Gnocchi und den Burger. Wir sind restlos überzeugt und werden definitiv wieder kommen, wenn es uns nochmal nach Zadar verschlägt. Wir sind übrigens weder Veganer noch Vegetarier. Wir lieben einfach sehr gutes Essen. Und wer das mag, ist hier am richtigen Platz.

One of the best dining experiences of my life! So good that we came back a second time. All plant-based restaurant with over the top delicious food, Friendly service, live music and a lovely view Adriatic.

Gorgeous plating and taste pallets. Meat replacers are identical to real meat in every aspect. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Zadar even if you are not vegan. The Botanist gave me hope for the future of dining.

nismo vegani, otisli smo iz znatizelje. lijepo uredeno, pristojan i ugodan domacin, pet friendly, hrana ok. zanimljivo za isprobati nesto drugacije.

View was absolutely amazing. Service was excellent have Croatian and English menu which is nice. And food of course was great even impressed my non vegan Croatian boyfriend.

Prijateljica i ja bile smo na organiziranoj večeri "Paint&Wine&Dine".
Organizacija cijele večeri, osoblje i jela koja su nam poslužili dok smo, uz upute i podršku djevojaka iz umjetničke udruge, slikali, bila je zbilja odlična. Atmosfera je opuštajuća čemu u velikoj mjeri pridonosi i osoblje, hrana je jako ukusna, vizualno privlačna, a nepcu ugodna.
Definitivno za preporuku.

Good view with a good meal

Absolutnie fantastyczne jedzenie. Przepięknie podane, obłędnie pachnące i oszałamiające w smaku. Wszystkie dania dopieszczone w najmniejszym szczególe. Kelner zachwyca obsługą. I jeszcze w grudniu jest bajkowy, swiateczny klimat. Miejsce warte odwiedzenia i spróbowania tych pyszności.

Warm welcome in perfect English, we were hesitantly told that it's an all vegan restaurant and received a big smile when we said that's why we were there! Stela was friendly and helpful, explaining what was and wasn't available on the menu due to the coming change to a winter selection. Presume this means all the ingredients are locally sourced and largely seasonal.

The food itself was delicious, very rich and filling - absolutely worth the money.

View out to the bay, not directly on the water but as close as is possible in Zadar.

On a Monday afternoon in November we had the entire restaurant to ourselves, hope it got busier in the evening but we definitely enjoyed the peace.

Great place, great vibe, nice location and marvelous food. Would highly recommend to try even if you are not vegan. Quality menu and selection of localy sourced ingredients is what makes this place this place so great. I am omnivore but this place rocks!

I really doubt that the food I ordered was completely vegan.

Während meines Aufenthalts in Zadar im Oktober 2023 habe ich hier zweimal gegessen. Das Essen war vorzüglich, ebenso dessen Präsentation und die Beratung bezüglich der Speisekarte. Hier könnte ich den ganzen Tag lang schlemmen :) Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und auch offen für Gespräche. Gerne wieder!

A stylish restaurant in Old Town that features Croatian vegan cuisine, presented in creative, interesting ways. We’re non-vegans/non-vegetarians but we really enjoyed the flavors and textures in each of our dishes and appreciated as well the effort and thought put into it. Warm and friendly service as well.
