该博物馆致力于讲述十五至十八世纪的印刷史，追溯 Plantin-Moretus 家族的历史。1555 年，法国人文主义者克里斯托弗-普朗坦（Christoffel Plantin）以印刷商的身份来到安弗尔，并在此定居。他的父亲扬-莫雷图斯（Jan Moretus）和他的小儿子们在十七世纪和十八世纪发展了家族企业。1876 年，爱德华-莫雷图斯（Édouard Moretus）向安弗尔市出售了自己的印刷厂和所有材料。

The museum is fantastic. Even if you think it might be boring to get to know more about the history of printing, it is absolutely not. The technical details, the books in different languages, the maps, the designs of the letters (like 3D versions of MS Word formats) and the life of the business family in their beautiful home. One can easily spend 2-3 hours there. The museum staff was also very kind.

Sehr informatives und schön gestaltetes Museum über das historische Buchdruckgewerbe und die Familie Plantin-Moretus, niedergelassen im Patrizierhaus, der ehemaligen Arbeitsstätte des Familienbetriebs. Viele historische Bücher, Skizzen, Buchdruckmaterialien und Prozesseinblicke in Bleisatz, Buchdruckerei, Buchgewerbe usw. Sehr zu empfehlen, insbesondere bei Interesse für Buchdruck und dessen historischer Entwicklung!
